Detail: Ken Corum, senior economist, briefed the Council on
demand response and its potential benefits to the power system. He defined
demand response as a change in demand for electricity corresponding to a
change in the power system's cost of electricity. He described examples of
demand response, the challenges to implementing it, and what the next
steps are to realize its potential. See
